This is not a joke, this is reality that next version of Android is coming soon named after a popular brand KitKat. This web contains the overall Android history with the announcement shown below:
- Android is the operating system that powers over one billion smartphones and tablets. Since these devices make our lives so sweet, each Android version is named after a dessert: Cupcake, Donut, Eclair, Froyo, Gingerbread, Honeycomb, Ice Cream Sandwich, and Jelly Bean. As everybody finds it difficult to stay away from chocolate, we decided to name the next version of Android after one of our favorite chocolate treats, Kitkat®!
Google has recently launched the latest version of Android 4.3 which have many interesting features named Jelly Bean, but now it is looking that something is going much interesting to happen and we got a news that now Google is going to launch the latest version os Android named Android 4.4 KitKat which is named after a popular brand.
Just before this we all thought that Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie would be the next version of android that is coming in the latest phablet of Samsung Galaxy Note III, but now Google announced the successor of Android 4.3 named KiKat.

Sundar Pichai, the head of Android and Chrome has confirmed the naming scheme for different versions of Android, Android 4.4 KitKat is named after Neslte’s popular candy bar, which is trademarked and licensed by Hershey in the US.
Google said that “it’s our goal with Android KitKat to make an amazing Android experience available for everybody”. The bold statement also suggests that Google plans to make use of its next iteration of Android in smartwatches, gaming consoles and other electronic gadgets”.
